The famous Festival of Rocciata, now in its XXIII edition, this year offers many new features.
The rocciata is a sweet with ancient origins, probably dating from the early Umbrian settlements; in “eugubine boards”, in fact, it is talking about a food probably similar to rocciata and used in sacred rites: the “tensendo”, its sweet god Hondo Cerfio, ancient Umbrian deities.
To the similarity of rocciata with the strudel, some would not be ruled out ties with the Lombards, who in this area had their own state.
